Kranston G. Boodram, O.D.

Dr. Kranston Boodram has been in practice with LaserVue since 1997. He has assisted in over 5000 refractive surgery procedures, and has conducted innumerable pre-and post-operative examinations that include Alcon’s FDA CustomCornea® treatment trials.

While living in Trinidad, W.I., he attended the Queen’s Royal College and later received both his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He was elected to the Phi Sigma Biological Honor Society and was selected to serve as an ambassador for the university in 1992.

While attaining his doctoral professional degree, Dr. Boodram received various awards which included the Southern Council of Optometrists’ Clinical Excellence Award, the Silor Optical Award, Silhouette Award, Ciba Vision Award, the Feinbloom Low Vision Award, and received Beta-Sigma-Kappa honors upon graduation.

Dr. Boodram is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Florida Optometric Association, and the Central Florida Optometric Society where he served as the Education Trustee for three years. His other professional experiences include The Magruder Eye Institute, Birmingham’s Veterans’ Administration Hospital, the Navajo Indian Health Service, and Birmingham’s Children’s Hospital. He has also been an adjunct faculty member of NOVA Southeastern University’s School of Optometry since 1999.

Since 2003 Dr. Boodram and Dr. Magruder have provided primary and tertiary ophthalmological care to the underprivileged through the Ophthalmology and Urology Medical Mission in the Dominican Republic. Other humanitarian services include optometric care at the Orlando Homeless Shelter and health fair vision screenings.

Dr. Boodram is a huge Orlando Magic fan and enjoys reading, the outdoors, and watching movies. He resides in East Orlando with his wife, Lismarie.
