Why Choose Us?
What makes LaserVue unique? Three words: technology, experience, and personalized care.
Technology
We use the state of the art Wavelight Allegretto Eye Tracking Laser. This laser also features a flying spot pattern that allows for intricate and individualized treatments.
We are delighted with the results of our new Allegretto Laser. Wavefront guided LASIK, is truly personalized to each individual eye. Results show an increased chance of improving vision over contacts or glasses, a smaller chance of reducing it, and better low light vision. Dr. Magruder is proud to have contributed to the studies involving this technology and leading to its optimization and FDA approval.
We use the Intralase FS laser to create the LASIK flap. The technique is bladeless, safer, and more accurate. With the newest 60 MHz model, the flap creation is quicker than ever and more patients are potential candidates. These features make the Intralase/Allegretto combination the best choice for optimal visual outcomes.
Experience
When selecting a surgeon, and a refractive center, experience is important to consider. LaserVue was formed in 1996, and is a dedicated refractive surgery center. Dr. Magruder has performed nearly 20,000 LASIK and PRK surgeries over these years.
We participate in the development of new technologies, and there are often opportunities for patients to be treated with the newest technology in studies. CustomCornea is an example of improved technology we offer, but have had experience using since 2001.
We are pleased that many doctors have chosen us for themselves and their families. This number is in the hundreds and includes optometrists, ophthalmologists, surgeons of all specialties chiropractors, dentists, family practice and internal medicine doctors, and veterinarians.
In 2003, Dr. Magruder was chosen as a Centurion Surgeon, an award based on excellent results using the LadarVision system.
Personalized Care
At LaserVue, we deliver our high-end technology and vast experience with personalized care. This starts at your consultation, all of which are performed by a doctor. We are not a high volume center; we take time to carefully study each eye and each patient so that we can be sure we provide the best advice regarding your refractive choices. We allow plenty of time for questions so that you will be fully informed.
When patients ask how they should choose a center for refractive surgery, we answer that although technique, technology, and experience are very important, THE most important factor is that they feel comfortable with the surgeon and the center. We highly encourage a consultation so that we can let you know what your choices are and you can get to know us. We also encourage consults elsewhere so you can see the difference for yourself. Don’t rely just on marketing!
